SOLAR PLUS STORAGE IN CALIFORNIA
Silver Peak solar + storage project
Silver Peak is a solar-plus-battery storage project in the city of Adelanto, in San Bernardino County, California. Solar generation coupled with battery storage enables power generated during the day to be stored and delivered when it is most needed, which supports California’s transition and commitment to achieving 100% carbon-free energy by 2045.

Our clean energy commitment
AES’ Silver Peak project is an operating solar plus storage facility in California. We are committed to responsible clean energy development that creates long-term value and positive impact for both the environment and local communities.

Sustainability Resources
Sustainability best practices
At AES, safety is our highest priority, and we’ve focused on improving lives for more than 40 years. As a leading innovator in energy solutions, sustainability is core to both our strategy and our culture. We are committed to responsible land use and incorporating sustainable best practices into the entire project lifecycle, contributing to building a domestic circular renewables economy and reducing foreign dependence.
Environmental and technical studies
We conduct a series of studies that ensure our projects are thoughtfully and responsibly designed. The project has been reviewed under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which included environmental, technical, cultural, and other siting studies. Once operational, the project will use very little water and will not produce any air pollution or emissions.
The City of Adelanto adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration, which concluded that the project will not create any significant environmental impacts and granted a Conditional Use Permit for the project in July 2022. The project will comply will all environmental and mitigation requirements.
Local partnerships
At AES, we understand that our success as a company is only as strong as our partnerships with the communities where we operate. That’s why we partner with communities, nonprofit organizations, unions, and stakeholders to learn how we can best work together to support sustainable social and economic development.
AES is a proud member and partner of Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce.
